9/28 Terrific new speech therapist

We met Gary Motta today, a former Edwin Shaw speech therapist who now works at Case Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls. Chuck and I were both very pleased at his approach, his humor, his experience and his straight talk. We also plan to do Physical Therapy at the same facility. Already we feel part of a small community of specialists who care about us and have taken a personal interest. They offer a special "Falls and Balance" sub-PT category and their occupational therapy uses a mock garage, grocery store, office, kitchen, bedroom. They also use electrical stimulation which we hadn't had since Manor Care.

We are already working with Gary to supplement our limited speech therapy sessions and plan to pay out of pocket (with Chuck's Benefit Fund) for additional sessions. By the way, the fund is now over $4,000 and we will be able to get Chuck's teeth repaired.

What a joy it was to hear hearty singing, the sound of the trombone and the rumble of companionable male voices downstairs in our living room! Rehab Village in full force.

  2. Hi Chuck and Auburn! So glad to hear how well things are going for you two! Keep moving forward, even if it is an inch! Gary Motta is a GREAT guy, and plays the SAX! Maybe he and Chuck can play together.
Praying you will have a safe and wonderful trip to Princeton this weekend! How special it will be for you all. God bless you all! Christine Bailey R.T.
