8/16 Chuck sleeping and sleeping and sleeping
Finally. We all sense this is another kind of break through. He literally has not rested in three weeks: not deeply and not for long. And he has struggled mightily with restlessness and involuntary movement night and day. Now, thank God, he has slept the better part of two days and nights. He wakes up, smiles at us, then goes straight back to sleep. His face looks exhausted, as though FINALLY, his body will give him rest and he is drinking it in. We believe the extended sleep is due to an adjustment in medication and a significant reduction of anxiety as well as the healing of a painful UTI. The sleep appears to be very natural, very deep, very needed.
