I've never been a casserole-bringing, thank-you-note-letter-writing, money-raising, comfort-giving, house-cleaning, nursing-home-visiting, family-supporting type person in other people's times of crisis. I've always been fairly self-centered, melancholy, impatient with myself and others, inclined toward solitude and the company of good books.
Being ministered to and cared for by members of a loving community, many of whom I've never met before, has changed me, softened me, opened me up. Or maybe it has simply returned me to a much less guarded version of myself.
How I will LOVE giving some of this care to others in the future and being that person to someone else that so many have been to me.
