Scott Brubaker from Chuck's old Salvation Army Advisory board paid a visit that I appreciated a great deal. His affection for Chuck was clear. We shed some tears, read some Psalms and exchanged some colorful Chuck stories.
I'll have more to report later this evening after we've spent our time outside doing our "constitutional." Chuck's countenance lit up earlier watching me drink some pop so I gave him bits of ice. He opened his mouth immediately, chewed it and swallowed. He looked positively exuberant and altogether present. He WILLED me with his entire being to let him have some ice and responded... with ENTHUSIASM. I'm thinking this is the first glimpse of the return of Chuck's personality... enthusiasm.
